Seamless Bespoke is a union between Lusso Tailors, Singaporean bespoke shoemaker Josh Leong, and local shoe connoisseur Winston Liang.
The group assembled a team of specialists who are authorities in their respective fields, and decided that it was not enough to just have a retail boutique – it was also important to have a place to house their team of artisans, in order to keep the production of their bespoke creations in-house. This is what led them to start their bespoke atelier, which is located directly above the boutique.
The in-house tailoring team at Seamless Bespoke has a combined experience of more than 100 years making bespoke clothing, while Josh Leong, who is the resident bespoke shoemaker, was trained in Italy, at renowned bespoke shoemaker Stefano Bemer, before coming back to Singapore to start his own brand of bespoke shoes.
This wealth of experience in bespoke tailoring and shoemaking ensures that when any customer steps into the Seamless Bespoke boutique, he or she will be attended to by a knowledgeable team of staff, who are always available to give advice about fit, style or construction methods.
Aside from their bespoke offerings, Seamless Bespoke is also the exclusive retailer of a curated range of prêt-a-porter footwear brands from around the world. These include international brands like Yanko from Spain, Oriental Shoemaker from Japan, Enzo Bonafe from Italy, as well as local brands like Palola and Heirloom by Josh Leong.
These brands have been carefully curated to provide customers with products that adhere to the highest standards of production, and it eliminates most of the guesswork for customers who are looking to pick up a pair of luxury dress shoes.
Educating customers about tailoring and shoemaking is an integral part of their business, and from day one, Seamless Bespoke was created to serve as a resource for people to use when wanting to find out more about dressing well.
A big part of Seamless Bespoke’s vision is to revive the bespoke tailoring and shoemaking trades in Singapore by grooming the next generation of artisan craftsmen. It is no secret that most of the cutters and makers in the tailoring and shoemaking industries in Singapore are well into their silver years, and if steps are not taken to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation, Singapore faces the risk of these entire industries disappearing when the current generation retires.
Seamless Bespoke recognises the need for the younger generation to see the tailoring and shoemaking industries as viable career options before they are willing to commit themselves to the trade. Mentorship plays an important role at Seamless Bespoke, with the head cutter and maker from the tailoring team, as well as Josh Leong, who heads the shoemaking team, are always looking to train and groom the next generation of tailors and shoemakers.
